Allo Allo

A stage play based on the TV series

'Allo 'Allo! was a long running British sitcom broadcast on BBC1 from 1982 to 1992 comprising eighty five episodes.  It was created by David Croft, who also wrote the theme music, and Jeremy Lloyd.

Set during World War II, 'Allo 'Allo! tells the story of René Artois, a French café owner in the village of Nouvion.  The Germans have occupied the village and stolen all of its valuable artefacts, including the painting of The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies by Van Klomp.

The Cast:

Rene Francois Artois Eddie Bruce The local Café proprietor, whilst trying to remain impartial, has been brought into the war on both sides.
Edith Melba Artois Linda Corbin Rene's wife, and the café's resident cabaret performer.  The subject of much romantic wooing by the Italian Captain Alberto Bertorelli.
Yvette Carte Blanche Jen Evans A waitress at the café.  She is in love with Rene, and wants to elope with him.  She also entertains German Officers upstairs with wet celery and a flying helmet.
Mimi La Bonque Briony Mann A waitress, who is also a secret agent for the resistance who hates the Germans with a passion.
Michelle "d'Resistance" Dubois Cecilia Kiefel Leader of the local French Resistance, she is responsible for organising the crazy escapes of the British Airman, and blowing up German trains and lorries.
Monsieur Roger Leclerc Brendon Dart The Resistance's forger, master of disguises and café piano player.  Instantly recognisable in any disguise.
Colonel Kurt Von Strohm John Nawotka The towns German Commandant.  He always gets Rene to do his dirty work, Overweight, stumbling and greedy, the Colonel has promised Rene a cut in the profits.
Private Helga Geerhart Lisa Clarke The Colonel's secretary, and the lover of Herr Flick.  Often found displaying her lingerie.
Captain Alberto Bertorelli Daniel Clarke An Italian Officer who has come to the town since Mussolini has joined in the war.  He has an eye for the ladies and is known as the womaniser.
Herr Otto Flick Darren McDowell The local Gestapo officer who trie to show as little emotion as possible.  He fancies Helga who he will marry after the war.
Lieutenant Hubert Gruber Ben Wilson-Hill A German officer on leave from the Russian front, with a crush on Rene.  A slightly effeminate manner, and the driver of a "little tank".
Major General Schmelling Andrew McLean A ruthless German Officer.  Always threatens to shoot French peasants when the Resistance attacks the German Army.
Officer (Captain) Crabtree Nicholas Gilbert A British spy posing as a French Policeman.  He has a poor grasp of the French language.
