My Fair Lady

Based on the play by George Bernard Shaw

My Fair Lady is a triumphant and as a show needs no introduction.  The brilliance of Lerner and Loewe's script and score provides an evening of entertainment that leaves the audience humming the tunes for days after the performance.  I'm sure you'll recognise "On The Street Where You Live", "I Could Have Danced All Night", "I'm Getting Married in the Morning", "I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face" and many other familiar songs.

Our story revolves around Henry Higgins who for a wager with Colonel Pickering instructs Eliza Doolittle, a cockney flower girl, in the art of using the English language correctly.  This is not easy for Eliza, but as we find – in Hartford, Heresford and Hampshire, and certainly Dural, there is no one fairer than My Fair Lady.

The performance you will see today reflects not only the skills of the actors but the dedication of a fantastic team who have worked tirelessly to get the set built and painted and the costumes made and fitted.  On behalf of the committee I would like to thank that wonderful group of people.
